Studio Partner terms
The working terms of a StellarViz retainer, as they appear in the signed agreement. Figures are set in your agreement; standard rates are in the rate card, available on request. These terms are a clear starting point, and the signed agreement is always the final word.
Scope and role
- StellarViz is engaged as a 3D visualiser. The work is to produce renders from the designs, layouts, materials, finishes and references you provide.
- Design decisions, including layout, material and finish selection and styling, are yours or your clients'. StellarViz visualises those decisions and does not make them.
- A change needed because StellarViz executed the brief incorrectly, for example applying a material other than the one specified, is corrected at no cost and is not counted as a revision.
- A change needed because the design, materials, layout or camera angle were revised after approval is a design change. It counts toward the included revisions and, beyond those, is billable.
The retainer
- This is a monthly retainer with a guaranteed floor, not project-by-project work. The fee reserves StellarViz's capacity and priority for you. Lighter and heavier months are expected, and the fee holds either way, within the carry-forward and paid-extra rules below.
- The monthly fee and included scope are set in your retainer agreement. Standard rates are in the StellarViz rate card, available on request.
- Paid monthly in advance by bank transfer.
What a view means
- One view is one final camera angle of one space.
- The angle is set from a final model you provide, or from white or clay renders produced by StellarViz when the model is built by the studio.
- Each view includes up to 2 revision rounds. A revision is a change to an already delivered view. A new camera angle is a new view, not a revision.
- A request for a different design of the same view is an option, not a revision.
Extra views
- Views beyond the monthly scope are charged per view at the agreed rate. That rate is fixed for the term of the agreement.
- Extra views are tallied at the end of each month and paid together with the following month's retainer. They are paid, never carried forward.
Socials and portraits
- A social or portrait is a render in Instagram portrait ratio, or another aspect ratio specifically requested, produced from an already finalised scene. It is separate from a project view and is not part of the monthly scope.
Options: alternatives for the same view
- An option is a different design of the same camera angle, produced alongside the original, not a correction to it. Options are separate from the included revision rounds.
- A minor option swaps a material, texture, colour, or a movable prop or furniture item only, with geometry, lighting and composition unchanged.
- A major option changes the design in a way that needs re-modelling, re-lighting or recomposition, for example an alternative ceiling, wall or layout.
- An option counts as minor only if it changes nothing but a material or a movable item. Anything that changes the model, the lighting, or the composition is a major option.
- Option charges are tallied at month end and paid with the following month's retainer, as with extra views.
Carry-forward, for genuinely light months
- If StellarViz delivers fewer views than the monthly scope despite the work being briefed and the camera angles approved, up to 2 undelivered views carry into the following month only, and lapse if not used.
- No more than 2 views ever carry forward, even where change requests or inputs were received late in the month.
- Views do not carry forward where a project is put on hold for reasons outside StellarViz's control, and months that were light because no work or approvals were provided do not create any carry-forward.
Your inputs
- Before work on a view begins, you provide the model or accurate drawings, material and finish specifications, layout, references, and the approved camera angles.
Approval before finals
- Draft renders at lower resolution are shared for sign-off before final production. Finals are produced only from approved camera angles.
- Final hi-res views are delivered at 1920 x 1080. Print or larger resolutions are quoted separately.
- Prompt sign-off keeps finals on schedule.
Timelines and turnaround
- The turnaround clock starts once approved camera angles and complete inputs are received, not when a project was first discussed.
- The clock pauses while StellarViz is waiting on feedback or sign-off.
- Specific delivery dates are agreed per project, once all inputs have been shared.
Modeling and bought assets
- Rendering from a final model you provide is covered by the retainer.
- If a project model is required to be built from scratch, that modeling is quoted and billed separately, based on the size and detail of the model, agreed before work starts.
- Any 3D model or asset purchased for your project, with prior approval, is reimbursed at invoice cost.
Files and usage rights
- Usage rights to a delivered render transfer to you on full payment for that work.
- Working files, including scenes, materials, lighting setups and asset libraries, remain the exclusive property of StellarViz and are not shared or transferred. The deliverable is the rendered image.
Rate review and yearly adjustment
- The fee is reviewed at a defined trigger set in the agreement, or at an agreed date, whichever comes first. The trigger is the data, not a judgement of when things feel normal.
- The base fee adjusts yearly on the anniversary of the agreement, as set in the agreement, unless both sides renegotiate it first.
Leave and availability
- StellarViz is an independent professional studio and takes reasonable time off. Planned leave is notified at least 7 days in advance, and longer for extended breaks.
- Work in progress is either completed before the leave or its timeline is adjusted around it, agreed in advance.
- The retainer is not reduced for leave in any month where the monthly view commitment is still met.
Payment and admin
- Amounts are exclusive of any taxes that may apply. Each party is responsible for its own tax obligations.
- Transfer receipts are shared regularly, so the amount sent and received is clear on both sides.
- Changes to the agreement are made in writing and confirmed by both sides.
Term and notice
- This is a rolling monthly retainer. Either party may end it with 30 days written notice.
- Work and payments already due at the point of notice are completed and settled.
